CMS v.1.03 ~ Dragon Warrior!

I don’t usually cover CMS stuff, but it bugs me to NOT cover this class. It was released to CMST a while ago, but I was hesitant to release it. Plus, I feared that there would be many more patches in CMST to rebalance the class, but there was only 1 -_-.

But oh well, I still extracted all the stuff that were added from CMS to CMST. So let’s go~.

By the way, I didn’t translate the description of the skills. Too time-consuming, and they mean nothing anyway. If you really care, there’s Google Translate :D.

And uh, for any of you who had difficulties extracting the patch, yes, the two MapleStories have different encryptions. CMS has the same encryption as KMS/MSEA/EMS while CMST has that of BMS or the really old GMS one. I probably should have said it on my twitter when the patch came but…. Eh whatever. This is more than enough for twitter.

A Dragon Warrior is a general term to a member of the Dragon Warrior tribe in China. However, I will be using the term “Dragon Warrior” to describe YOU, the player.

The story begins with the Dragon Warrior living peacefully in China with all the other Dragon Warriors in the tribe. He is the son (or she is the daughter) of the tribe’s leader, the Monkey King (LOL… 至尊宝):

In the beginning, he has to train with Suha (), the girl you also see in the large picture above. Suha is his trainer, and she gives him a Dragon Warrior uniform after he’s done training! Once he’s done training, and after becoming an official Dragon Warrior, he goes off to train independently.

While he’s training, Suha is hurt! What happened?! Well, the emperor of China, Shun Yao, came to the tribe and completely burned down the area with his Terracotta Warriors and Skeleton Laborers.

When Shun Yao came, Monkey King did not recognize him. In fact, he had absolutely no knowledge that he was the emperor and kept asking him for his identity. Although he refused to believe that Shun Yao is the emperor, the Dragon Warrior (who was viewing the whole thing from a distance) recognized Shun Yao and knew he was the emperor. He or she tries to tell his or her father that that it is in fact the emperor of China, but Monkey King quickly tells his son/daughter to leave.

An epic fight then breaks between the Dragon Warrior’s father and the emperor. The Dragon Warrior’s father tries to protect his son/daughter, but he gets severely injured (not dead yet!) as a result. Without a doubt, the Dragon Warrior is sad and screams “pappy” (just kidding, he says “father”).

Out of nowhere, Suha pops up next to the Dragon Warrior. The emperor and his minions (the skeletons and men on horsies) are about to attack the two, until Monkey King uses the last of his powers to summon a great dragon to attack the emperor and his troops and buy the two time to escape.

His action was successful, because he managed to buy them enough time to escape. They managed to leave the island and get on a boat just before the emperor caught them, and also before he completely burned down the land:

They sail away from China and land in Nautilus Harbor and find Kyrin!

Yes, I know, it’s the same image of Kyrin as the one in the Jett storyline. It was different in CMST but they changed it to this one. Better.

And afterwards, she became a pirate! Hooray! Her goal in life is to avenge her father’s death and the burning of her tribe. Talk about set your goals high.

One more thing happened before they left the land. Suha gave the Dragon Warrior a treasure box:

Until 2nd, the treasure box remains unopened. When it does open, we see what’s inside:

I’m not sure what it is (as in, what it’s called. It’s “八卦宝盒” but all that says is “Bagua (?) Treasure Box”), but it’s obviously some symbol that was passed down from the Dragon Warrior’s father. The symbol represents the family of the leaders of the Dragon Warrior tribe, and it gives them power. I shouldn’t even say similar to Jett’s core, because it’s in fact the SAME thing. The treasure box goes in the shield slot and upgrades at every job advancement:

The names don’t really tell much either, since they only talk about a “treasure box” (ex. – first one is “Unopened Treasure Box” while the last one is “Completed Treasure Box”). Fun fact: In CMST, the icons of the treasure boxes were the same as Jett’s cores’ icons.

Well, more about Dragon Warrior. Dragon Warrior is a pirate who uses guns and whose primary stat is DEX (secondary is STR).

Like every new job after and including Mercedes, you can choose between male or female.

Jett has Core Arua, Dragon Warrior has Treasure Box Blessing. They are the same skill with the same icon, except the icon is more appropriate here because the icon IS Dragon Warrior’s Treasure Box. Thus, we can safely assume that GMS was the one who copied CMS, not the other way around.

Level 5: When attacked, 20% chance to increase your damage by 10% for 30 seconds.
Level 6: When attacked, 24% chance to increase your damage by 11% for 33 seconds.
Level 7: When attacked, 28% chance to increase your damage by 12% for 36 seconds.
Level 8: When attacked, 32% chance to increase your damage by 13% for 39 seconds.
Level 9: When attacked, 36% chance to increase your damage by 14% for 42 seconds.
Level 10: When attacked, 40% chance to increase your damage by 15% for 45 seconds.

Welp, that’s all for Dragon Warrior! All the other changes are the same as those in the Jett update, except for one thing that caught my eyes:

OMG PANDA SHOP! YES! PANDAS!!! Why wasn’t this released in KMS…

Speaking of KMS, the Tempest update is 3 days away and still no teasers or anything -_-.

Only other things we know about are two new exclusive classes for JMS, Samurai and Shrine Maiden! Credits to Shikage for the information.

I actually think the two jobs will be exciting, simply because they’re JMS-exclusive. Jett was pretty bad, Dragon Warrior is even worse, and Luminous got boring for me :|. Speaking of Luminous, I’m uploading more videos of the job soon along with Jett videos; you can check out my YouTube channel here.

Job & academic course start tomorrow, so I probably won’t have as much free time. However, I’ll make sure to cover everything.

      • after you hit 70 and max solar array, Jetts get really good

        After playing a jett I know playing a corsair will be fun as well because pretty much all the skills are the same between the two classes.

        I have a feeling KMS challenged the other maple companies to make a class. I can almost bet you one of the “exclusive” classes is gonna be ported to KMS some day.

    The Dragon Warrior looks cool 😀 but the Samurai and the Shrine Maiden look really nice. Too bad i cant play either of them :P. Jett sucks its pretty much a mix of merc and cannon

    They have the exact same skills as Jett, but they have 2 more rushing skills, however they’re not getting more sps. O.o

To the ones saying Dragon Warrior is cool and Jett sucks, I hope you’re saying so basing your opinion on the looks, the plot or something like that… because as the article points out, and as it’s obvious, both classes have the same skills, except DW has two more skills on the first couple jobs. I believe Jett gets more mobility instead (double Glide Blast and such).

    • ikr? Jett is not epic horrible, but could have been better. You got people to understand what GMS gets is pretty much copy and pasted from KMS. For GMS to take the time to create programing code to make something completely orginal would take a crap load of time, and R&D. Try come with the programming and design of a new character yourself, then maybe youll appreciate GMS’s Jett.

    And the samurai class came to outhers MSs…
    The last warrior class was the Mikhail that is a mix of Dawn Warrior and Hero, the only thing that i want of this patch to Gms is the revamp of Warrior… u.u’

    • Is that based off your opinion or is that the actual fact that JMS stated?

      I am just asking because I am jealous that they are getting two jobs while China and Global only gets 1 job.

    • Lol true dat on JMS + KMS, leave it to the Asian countries to create great games and other computer geek stuff. Europe and America they just suck ass in programming because of the fact that they are fat and lazy and working in self entitlement mentalities, Unions, Obamacare, so therefore GMS is just total crap.

      rant aside, Jett is freaking awesome in mobility/speed, and love that Static Stomper skill in 2nd job, and LOL @ every Jett and Thief and other lvl50- under noobs grinding at King Pepe boss PQ.

      What pisses me off the most about Renegades/Justice is how they took away PQing from lvls 20-50 and MonsterPark Golem Temple, and Kerning City, so Nexon pretty much wants us new characters under lvl50 to use thier stupid Level Guide/navigation system? Not only that but this update is pretty much kissing ass and catering towards higher lvls from 50-95 then 135+. What total bullcrap. ~)~

      Oh well at least everyone can solo King Pepe as many times as they like, it’ll just be in time when Nexon decides to deprave that from us lower lvls, and manipulate us to waste more moneys.

      Oh one last thing, I looted 1.5mil from some dude in NLC store map (by accident and remained hidden inside the black wall. LOL PWNED!!!! and he was like “Wherez my moneyz f4”

      • Obama-care isn’t an entitlement. In fact, it erases entitlements and puts health care back in the hands of the consumer. People will be able to shop around for doctors no matter what health care they choose. It doesn’t GIVE anyone anything. It FORCES you to be insured. Sounds wrong? Funny, you’re FORCED to have car insurance. Same concept if you ask me. The idea was thought up by conservatives but they decided to keep spending on random stuff like wars and tax cuts. Now that a liberal is implementing it and cutting spending they’re all hating.

  6. Glad there was a post on this. So DW is Jett with a rush skill. Guess they lost Dignity after all. Such a shame.

    But Jett/DW doesn’t really excite me like Demon Slayer did. They’re just Sairs with some Bucc skills and unlimited bullets, not something new and original. A lot of people complained about the same thing. Sadly, every time there is something new and original, people complain that it’s too OP, whether it’s Arans, Evans, Mechs or Slayers. Truly, being a sane Mapler in this bipolar community is suffering. People were even complaining about Jett and DW being OP…even though all of his skills were just copypasta’d from the revamped pirates.

    Oh well. At least there’s still the soon to be revamped Bams…coming to GMS in January. Well, these boring new classes have rekindled my love of Demon Slayers, even if they’re nerfed. Maybe I’ll make one. OH WAIT! They’re time limited. Fuck.

    Guess I’ll just stay in Maple retirement until then. These new copypasta classes suck. They’re the product of Nexon listening the community, giving it something new that’s not OP…in the form of reskinning something that already exists. Truly, the lowest common denominator ruined the game for everyone else. Nexon should stop listening to them and go back to doing what it does best.

    Trolling the shit out of them with exciting new original content!

    One year ago they released Demon Slayer in KMS. Since then it’s been a flamboyant blackjack dealer with way too many active skills, a bland flash jumping warrior with a laser and a 1v1 attack that makes THE. MOST ANNOYING. SOUND. ever, a glorified I/L mage that uses L/D instead and a reskinned Corsair. They’re 0/4 in terms of classes worth playing. Maybe they just jumped the shark with Slayer.

    This is what happens when Nexon listens to “the community.” Le sigh.

    Hopefully the JMS-exclusive classes can be much more unique than a Dragon Descendant or a whatever alien hunter.
    And I better pray that MSEA won’t do the similar thing or follow GMS this time when Justice arrives there. >.<

  8. Shakar how is Nexon copying dragon warrior when Dragon warrior is variation of the Post Justice Corsair, which proves to show both countries suck at creating something original in terms of the way they are played and the skills.

      now to put it in better context, if you meant GMS was copying DW to make Jett, then yea that would sound like both China and America Nexon sucks at creating something original.
