GMS v.1.12 ~ Renegades: Part I!

The patch was supposed to be today, but it was postponed till tomorrow. Luckily, though, they released the PATCH file today! It’s really big, a whooping 288 MB file :|. In this post, I’ll be covering all the new content, which include the release of Jett. I will also be using the official patch notes which can be found here.

Jett

Background

Jett is a female cowboy (dayum) from outer space (OH SH*T). She’s from Cerberus, another planet in the Maple World (which Nexon AMERICA made up and completely overused) and she’s actually a pirate adventurer.

Jett lived in Cerberus and she was a bounty hunter. She didn’t do anything wrong, until one day she was accused of doing a serious crime:

Now Jett, who was a bounty hunter (which, if you don’t know, is a guy who finds wanted criminals), became a wanted criminal herself! At first, she’s mad at whoever did the crime and blamed it on her, but she quickly realizes that she has to leave Cerberus.

She used a space shuttle/air ship to escape using the help of a guy named Burke (of the opposite sex, if you’re a male it’s a female), another bounty hunter, until the aliens caught up to her (fail):

Once she got hit, she traveled back in time:

And landed in Nautilus Harbor. Once she landed, she feels really weak. She’s very weak because her Core was taken away from her, what made her very powerful. The Core was taken away from her by Burke, who is also the guy who murdered the king and also the person she thought was her friend.

She gets into a fight with Burke over the Core. The Core is actually an hereditary item, only people in Jett’s family can unlock its powers. That does not bother Burke, who only wants to be equal or stronger than Jett. Without the Core, Burke is much more powerful than her. He attacks her and she passes out.

Thereafter, she became a pirate! She uses guns, and therefore her primary stat is DEX and secondary is STR. However, she has a secondary weapon called a Core in her shield slot (why did I know she would have one?):

Her shield is actually a PART of the Core. The full Core, as previously mentioned, was stolen by Burke. Why did he steal it? He disliked her because he was always number 2 while Jett was number 1 (because of the core’s power). Thus, he took the core so HE can be more powerful than Jett.

At every job advancement, the Core will upgrade.

Speaking of job advancements, you’ll receive several REQUIRED quests in a light bulb at level 80. You have to complete them to advance to 4th job.

Like Demon Slayer, Jett receives a gun at every job advancement:

Also, at level 30 she’ll receive a skill called Core Aura.

As you can see, Core Aura is a Link Skill. The skill has completely random stats:

At level 30, when you first get the skill, the maximum bonus you can get for each stat is 2. However, every 10 levels, that will increase. Along with the maximum increasing, the stats of the skills will also increase. Here are my stats at level 40:

The stats will change every 10 levels until level 120. At level 70 or higher, however, you can link it to another character.

Now, let’s say you don’t like the stats you have. Alright, you can always reset it! One way is by purchasing this NX item:

The other is by getting Star Dust from monsters:

To reset the stats, all you have to do is double click on the skill and click on enhance:

Click “Proceed” and you’ll reset it.

There’s a down side to Star Dust, however. Unlike the Cash Shop item, Star Dust can DECREASE stats. Might as well spend 300 NX and stay safe.

Also, when the timer runs out, the stats will automatically reset. There’s another NX item that you can use to keep a certain stat for a short period of time, but it doesn’t keep it for too long. If you want to have good stats, you need to pay a LOT of NX.

Uh, she has her own Cash Shop inventory of course.

The creation of Jett is pretty much like every new job:

You can choose between male or female. Your outfit, though, isn’t really different.

Only things you can change are your eyes. Same hair, clothes, but you get a choice of eyes.

Last part,

She has numerous new skills that are unique to her, which use extraterrestrial technology to obliterate enemies.

Part-Time Jobs & Character Cards

Part-Time Jobs

If you have a level 30+ character, make sure you pick a job for him to do before you go to sleep. That character will “work” for 6 hours before you get your reward. To claim your reward, see Ms. Appropriation. She can be found in every major town.

You can only assign the jobs to 3 characters, and you have to choose between these 5 jobs:

Rest Allow character to get a sufficient amount of rest.
You can receive various buffs that will aid you in battle. As a special reward, you can receive additional EXP benefit.
Herbalism You can obtain various herbs.
As a special reward, you care obtain rare recipes. Have a character that learned the Herbalism profession participate to receive better rewards.
Mining You can receive various ores needed for equipment forging. As a special reward, you can receive rare equipment/accessory recipes. Have a character that learned the Mining profession participate to receive better rewards.
General Store You obtain various potion-type items.
As a special reward, you can receive various scrolls.
Weapon/Armor You can obtain various potions and other consumable items.
You can obtain equipment items at random

Character Cards

A character card is created for every character at level 30. Each card can be stored in a deck of 3 cards, and you are only allowed to have up to 2 decks.

  • Lord Balrog can now be entered on any channel, with a party of 1-6 people level 45+. You can also choose what scroll you want when you turn in Leather Pieces.

  • The Beryl Maple Cannon, Cane and Dual Bowguns can’t be upgraded to Crimson Maple versions.
  • A fix has been applied to the Ghost Stump and Smirking Ghost Stump spawn rate in Gusty Peak.
  • A fix has been applied to the Yeti & Pepe spawn rate in Sharp Cliff 3.
  • The following pets can now be used to begin the quest obtain the Follow the Leader skill: Storm Dragon, demon pets, permanent Jr. Reaper.

  • (Phantom’s Mysterious Letter) “dead” should be “dear” in one of the text boxes. – LOL.
  • The incorrect date is listed when talking to the Maple Administrator about the Alliance Ring quest. The end date should be July 24. – LOL.
  • ([Renegades]Challenge Accepted! Clear Monster Park 3 times!) Placeholder TKTKTK text is displayed when you turn the quest in. – LOL.
  • Some players may experience lag when using the mounts.
  • Some players may experience lag when using mage and arch mage skills.
  • Elf ears clip through all hats that cover a character’s ears. – WZ problem.
  • Mr. Moneybags, the Cursed Knight, Ace of Hearts, Mrs. Bo, Lucia, and Maple Claws are incorrectly listed as being present in certain towns when hovering over town icons on the world map. – LOL.
  • Some question marks appear in the NPC list when hovering over town icons on the world map. – LOL.

All the “LOL”‘s by the way are to problems that can be resolved easily. I mean, they can’t change “dead” to “dear”?!

  • Just like Dragon Warrior in CMST, GMS added a lot of jobs to store the revamped pirates! Ignore 7000, I was checking from an old version of GMS (it’s okay I patched it later on).
  • Two new Miracle Cubes: Enlightening and Revolutionary.

Enlightening:

An amazing cube that resets equipment potential and has a chance to upgrade all potentials to the highest available grade.
Only usable on items grades Rare to Legendary
Max Result: Legendary

Revolutionary:

This otherworldly cube has a chance to change the number of potentials a piece of equipment possesses.
Only usable on items from Rare to Legendary
Max potentials: 3.
Gives 1 Super Miracle Cube Fragment when used. Be careful to make sure your USE tab is not full before use!

    I tried using Fiel’s patcher program, and it works out everything but this one thing called “File Base.wz does not exist”. Am i doing something wrong?

  6. Three things.One, If I am reading shad;s new skills correctly, they can do 2775% damage per hit of assassinate. Two, Jett looks pretty strong, it doesnt seem like a complete carbon copy of kms’s sair, because the crit rate and speed are crazy and it seems to have more damage bonuses. Three, the core keeps jett from needing bullets right?

    • Lol I used to be annoyed with Shakar’s bashing/hate whatever you want to call it posts but now I find them hilarious mostly because he has good reason to as sarcastic as he is. Nexon hasn’t really given us much reason to care about MS with the overhyped up job that’s really nothing special and the long delay from anniversary to Justice/Renegades.

      Keep it up Shakar I had a few good laughs reading that intro to Jett.

    Looking at the skills, Jett is pretty much a Revamp Pirate + Jump/Ascension Bowman/Mercedes ‘s godly speed + jump passives, double jump, Mercedes/Bowmaster’s Ishtar’s ring/Hurricane skill, and some Cannoneer like skills (Scatter Shot) or something like that.

    I don’t see whats to hate about Jett. It looks cool, has a promising storyline, its relative towards GMS past exclusive content, (Masteria + its high-tech futuristic/ techno pop music, theme of NLC, Visitors/Alien PQ, then NLC revamp with different race of Aliens)

    And aren’t the Aliens from revamp NLC from planet Cerebrus? I remember some of all that chessy quest dialogues about making some references of “Cerebrus” (not 100% sure, but correct me if I’m wrong) and even if i am, it would be interesting to think them Aliens invaded Masteria to hunt for Jett. lol

  16. Way to get the story wrong. Burke assassinated the King and framed it on Jett. When Jett tried to escape, her ship was shot down and landed near the Nautilis. Burke then stole part of her core so she would be equal/weaker in power than Burke..

  17. So, I went to play my Thunder Breaker and my dash does absolutely nothing. I check in my skillbook, and notice it says that if you use triple fire or corkscrew blow (I think it was corkscrew at least) then damage is increased by 0%. O-o

    Continuing the search through my skillbook, the passive skill that gives you accuracy and avoidability gave me nothing, corkscrew blow was instant cast, and energy blast hit 0 times(Actually not sure what that one has to do with my point I’m going to make but it was still weird) Anyways, what I’m going at is that we can retain hope that pirates get their revamp after all, since apparently brawlers (Or at least thunder breakers) already have half the revamp!

    • Really? That’s not what the WZ says o_o.
      This was extracted, not manually done. And I just checked, the data still says max is level 20. Can you show me a picture?
