GMS v.97 ~ 6th Anniversary!

April, the month of anniversaries! Just a few days ago I told you about the 8th anniversary of KMS, and now it’s GMS’s. Except GMS is turning 6! Wow, I can’t believe I’m still playing GMS after 6 years (well sort of playing)!!!

Nothing really new on KMS, except that there’s a new video. You can check the updated guide/Videos section to see it… And that many high leveled monsters’ HP/EXP GREATLY increased (by that I mean ones of Deep Ludibrium, Lionheart Castle, Deep El Nath, Temple of Time)….

Anyway, the events in GMS are not as exciting as in KMS. But there are a couple of stuff you’ll enjoy!

Sorry it took so long by the way, there were so many maintenance’s every day when I tried logging in~

Every other EQUIP is the same. The weapons are sold by Inkwell:

And other equips and items are sold by Inkie:

Everything that you recognize from previous anniversaries are exactly the same.

I want to point out a couple of things, though:

  • Pendant of the Sprite only lasts for one day. It gives you 10% extra EXP if you’re on for up to an hour, 20% for up to 2 hours, and 25% for anything more than that.
  • The Anniversary Scrolls add 7 attack (Magic or Weapon) for all weapon scrolls. There are two other types, Enhancement and Boost. Enhancement adds 70 MaxHP+MaxMP and Boost adds 2 on each stat. They are available for armors and accessories. Also, they have a 20% chance of working and if they fail, the item will be destroyed.

How do you get those coins to buy the items?

The only ways you can get them is by trading in a Maple weapon to Cassandra and get only 1 coin, or trade 500 Maple Leaves for one coin. Sucks I know, and it’s going to be really hard to get them.

Woah, how do you get so many?

  • All monster drop it.
  • Leveling up (in the ‘Events’ section).
  • Buying from FM.
  • Getting from the Maple Tree Hill.

Screw this, not getting all those leaves. How else can I get the items (including Pyrope)?!

Monsters drop them!! You can check the drop list here. Or from Nexon here.

Other Stuff Added

  • [6th Anniversary] Scroll for Katara ATT 40%

Improves Attack on Maple Anniversary Blade.
Success Rate: 40%, Weapon Attack +3, LUK +2
If it fails, the item has a 30% chance to be completely destroyed.

  • 6 Year Anniversary Weapon Box

Double-click to receive a Lv. 77 Maple Anniversary weapon.

  • 6th Anniversary Treasure Note

One of the treasure notes the Maple Administrator spread among the monsters to celebrate the 6th anniversary. Go see the Maple Administrator if you find a note that has the name of a gift written on it.

Events

[The 6th Anniversary event is called “Jubilation.”]

Jigsaw Puzzle

I remember doing this event in the past, and now it’s something similar. Basically, all you have to do is fill a puzzle.

Anyway, the Maple Administrator will give you a puzzle and a guide on how to complete it, because lets face it, none of us can solve a puzzle.

When you double click it, you’ll see all the pieces you already put together/need to put together.

There are 7 pieces. Oh boy, what a tough puzzle. That’s what your guide is for.

It shows you how to get 5 of those pieces when you double click it. I’ll guide you through them.

Puzzle Piece A

Gotta defeat the Maple Bday Cake.

It’s found in any map, any time, any channel. It has a set damage of 6 and has 250 HP.

Really easy. When it dies, it will drop your piece.

Drag it on and you got another piece! Congrats~

Puzzle Piece B

Easy. If you noticed, Inkie sells it for 100 mesos.

Drag it to your puzzle and you unlocked the top-right piece.

Puzzle Pieces C, D, and E

You simply get them from doing Cassandra’s Quest, Celebrate MapleStory’s 6th Anniversary!

Basically, get 66 Diamond 6 Cards [the color depends on your level range] from any monsters your level or higher.

Sigh, I’m stuck in Kerning City so it looks like I won’t be doing this quest for now~

Puzzle Piece F

Participate in the ‘Ballon Hunt’. You will get when the PQ is over.

~Drag~

Read on to learn more~

Pizzle Piece G

All you have to do is hunt monsters for Sunshines and give it to Aramia in the Maple Tree Hill (described below).

Then, give it to Aramia, the little girl there.. You need to donate at least 50 Sunshines and you’ll get that puzzle piece.

Drag it~

And the Final Reward is…

  • 6 Year Anniversary Gift Box

Double-click to receive a 6 Year Maple Anniversary gift.

Dual Raid: Balloon Hunt

A new PQ was that was released in KMS for its 7th anniversary was released in GMS, Dual Raid: Balloon Hunt.

Since it’s an event, there’s no map or anything to recruit people. Instead, people are going to wait around Gaga, who is in charge of this PQ.

First things first, get a party of 3. Now, you many either create a room or enter a room. When you enter a room, you’ll be sent to a random one. Same thing if you make one, someone random will come. Then you’ll be in a map for 10 seconds till the PQ begins!

When the PQ begins, the party that created the room will be the Red Team, while the party who joined will be the Blue Team.

*NOTE: In this PQ, you can’t use any skills. YOU CAN ONLY USE YOUR ATTACK KEY!

The basic objective of this PQ is to pop the 6th Anniversary Balloon before than the other team does by damaging it more than them.

Fun Fact: The 6th Anniversary Balloon has 300,000 HP.

You can only do a damage of 666 to the balloon since it’s the 6th anniversary. Also, the [draining] two bars at the top show who’s in the lead (in this case, the Red Team is). There are two ramps for you to fly and hit it, one on the right and one on the left.

Now if you only get a combo of 2 bounces max, then you’re doing it wrong. The trick is, get on the ramp, hold the arrow corresponding to the side you are going to, and then when you bounce on the next one, quickly change your fingers to the opposite arrow. You’ll see yourself bouncing a lot.

Next thing I want to discuss is the monsters. There are Mischievous Orange Mushrooms and Mischievous Ribbon Pigs which look exactly like Orange Mushroom/Ribbon Pig. You have a set damage of 66 on them (duh, Maple’s 6th Anniversary!), and they have 125 HP.

They don’t help you in winning DIRECTLY, but they are extremely important, because of their drops~

Speed Up

Increases the Attack Speed and Movement Speed of you and your party members for 10 sec.

Speed Down

Decreases the Attack Speed and Movement Speed of the opposing party members for 10 sec.

Bomb Attack

Installs and activates a Time Bomb in the hunting field. Affected opponents will be stunned for 3 sec.

Don’t pick it up in my opinion~ You and your teammates can get exploded and be stunned as well.

Charge + 1

Charges your team’s vertical jump* gauge by 1.

Gauge Up

Increases the leading team’s gauge by a fixed amount.

Note: Only use it if you’re the leading team!

Vertical Jump

Notice how I bold’ed and put an asterisk next to it when I described Charge +1.

The Vertical Jump is a VERY important part of the balloon fight. If you noticed, in the fight there’s a little battery at both sides. The left side is ALWAYS the Red Team’s and the right side is ALWAYS the Blue Team’s.

Also, if you noticed, in the middle of the map there are two more bouncy things.

[Some distance here]

They are connected to the top battery, the one that’s under your bar that you have to charge.

The only way to charge it is by the Charge +1 item. It will add another block to it. You need a total of 10 to charge it.

Once it’s charged, the bouncy things will glow and an arrow will appear on top of them. That means you can jump on them, and you’ll land on the platform right next to the balloon and you can attack it as much as you can for 10 seconds till it throws you off.

[Animation got messed up -_-” Coming soon]

Same as everything, the left ramp is for the Red Team and the right one is for the Blue team… You cannot jump with the other team.

So what’s the plan? Get only ONE person to jump and attack the balloons (in my case, it’s me :)) and the rest will kill the monsters. You’ll find that to be the best strategy for this PQ, and you have a higher chance of winning.

Speaking of winning, I gotta tell you about the end. If you lose, you just get kicked out of the room immediately and see this:

When you win, you just see the ending~

And you get to stay there for 30 more seconds. It’s good because you can get the loot.

Possible Rewards:

  • Maple Leaves
  • Maple Weapons
  • Maple Scrolls
  • 7-Day Coupon for mushroom mount
  • Jigsaw Puzzle Piece F.

Maple Tree Hill

Remember the event from a couple years ago of the exploding maple tree and the reward to those leaves were Maple weapons/the Under the Maple Tree… chair? Well, it’s back! Hurray~ Even though the chair is not special and you can get it from Inkie but still, hurray!

Except this time, you gotta talk to Cassandra to take you there. Also, a girl named Aramia is in charge.

If you’re really patient to see the tree explode, The Maple Tree Hill will drop Maple Leaves and Golden Maple Leaves, which you can trade to Aramia for a random Maple Weapon if you’re really lucky.

For the tree to explode, a lot of Sunshines need to be given to Aramia.

Same exact thing as last year~ Except this year you need 50 to get the puzzle piece.

Level Up Event

Basically, every time you level up, if you’re level 2 or above, you’ll get an amount of Maple Leaves relative to your level.

MapleStory’s Family Loyalty Forever

Best event so far… All you have to do is just log on and click on your light bulb.

She will slime-stamp another day on your attendance sheet:

Now, if you log in 7 times on any day between now and June 14th, you’ll get the Family Comes First Medal!

If you log in 14 times on any day between now and June 14th, you’ll get the Family Loyalty Forever Medal!

Awesome! And it doesn’t expire/has durability!
