KMS ver. 1.2.129, 1st Part of Jump!

1st Part of the Jump! Update

<2nd Part Here>

<3rd Part Here>

A big update hit KMS, which you might have already heard about as the ‘warrior restructuring.’ It is called ‘Jump!,’ and it consists of 3 parts (uhhh, how original Nexon!):

Blade’s Counterattack – March Update, THIS UPDATE.

Awakening of the Order – April Update

The Arrow of Speed – May Update

The 1st part was just released in KMS, so I’ll explain it now~

My guess is the 2nd update will be Magician restructuring, and the 3rd update will be Archer restructuring. Who knows, though?

I’ll break up this patch into 3 parts: Warrior restructuring, Monster Park, and other changes.

Part I: Champion Occupational Restructuring

In this update, warriors got greatly buffed. New skills were added and current skills were balanced.

NOTE: I will NOT post all the changes until the next big update. There will be many balancing patches that will change them, so I don’t want to tell you anything until everything is FINAL.

However, I will tell you what the new skills are or the major updates of the current skills. Just remember that many other skills changed…

Part II: Spiegelmann’s Own Ambitious, Monster Park!

Yes, the great Monster Park update is here!

Incomplete, though.

The Monster Park is an area for levels 13+ (currently 13~120) with bosses with extremely high HP and high EXP, very similar to Von Leon.

The first thing you’ll get when you log on is a quest from the new Spiegelmann, who will want you to go to the cab and come to the Monster Park.

He will also give you a ticket, which you’ll need to enter the Monster Park (only if you’re the leader):

The cab will send you into this map:

There, Spiegelmann will give you two quests:

Finish the PQ 10 times and get his ‘stache for 5 days, and just finish 1 PQ and get 5 coins. [You can only complete them once, but you are still able to get the ‘stache, read on~]

Now to enter the monster park, you need to choose between 3 portals based on your level:

From left to right:

Right-most: 13~70

Middle: 70~120

Left-most: Coming Soon in the next part of Jump!, later on April!

Before you enter, though, make sure you have a party. The more you have the better!

Why? You get 50% more exp for each party member!

Now the PQ is VERY SIMPLE. All you have to do is simply kill all the monsters and clear each stage by going into the portal.

There are 6 stages, normally this is how they’re like:

  • 1st Stage – Monsters~
  • 2nd Stage – New monster~
  • 3rd Stage- A mix of the two monsters + 1 boss.
  • 4th Stage – A mix of the monsters from the 2nd stage and a boss.
  • 5th Stage – The boss introduced in 4th stage + a new boss.
  • 6th Stage – Everything combined.

That’s generally it. It varies, and each PQ is different, though.

The bosses are not too hard, and since the highest level’ed PQ that’s out is 85~95 and I was level 101, I was able to hit them all the time. Your party mates will also help you.

I got to try the Monster Park PQ and finished successfully 😀

On my first PQ, I was left at the last stage to solo one of the bosses after our mechanic died, and it was very easy:

The DB in my party ks’ed me a little, but it’s still good EXP 😛

I also forgot to mention about the drops. There’s a high drop rate of equips, and every equip dropped has a hidden potential!

I got so many equips and NPC’ed them to Raku (), the merchant.

Also forgot to mention that the monsters may drop coins in the Monster Park.

You can exchange them to Spiegelmann (50 for his ‘stache for 5 days, and 100 for his autograph which lasts for 7 days):

The last NPC on that main map is Mary (), the ticket maker.

Give her 10 ticket pieces and she’ll give you one. The tickets can be gained by Treasure Monsters as far as I know, which will be described below.

ETC. Changes

  • Ellin Forest got greatly buffed by 20 levels, the lowest leveled monster is level 96,which was 76 beforehand:

  • Neo City got nerf’ed 4 levels down on each monster, you now get the quests and stuff at level 100.
  • Both places ^ got the party boost (50% EXP extra per member). Also, the monsters are now all bosses. JUST LIKE VON LEON.

Here’s a video, credit to the uploader of Insoya.

  • New Treasure Monsters, monsters with a little medal under them! The ones below level 120 drop ticket pieces and the one over level 120 drop mastery books at 100% rate! They also have a chance of dropping the following:

  • Maps better for training, more free spots without any monsters.

  • Detailed maps for Von Leon + Gate of Future (Future Henesys):

Von Leon:

Gate of Future:

  • Mini maps got improved:

First one = Event NPC has a quest for you! If it’s not lit, it’s just a normal quest.

Second one = NPC’s that wrap you to another map (Dimensional Mirror, for example).

Third one = NPC Traders (Merchants, pet food sellers, for example)

Fourth one = Storage NPC.

  • New plane that let you travel between continents!

At each departure map, there will be a new NPC called Instructor Irvine:

Talk to him and you can buy a plane~

– 10k for a wooden one that lasts for 1 day.

– 50k for a wooden one that lasts for 7 days.

– 30k for a red one that lasts for 1 day.

– 150k for a red one that lasts for 7 day.

From an event, you get one that lasts for 3 days.

How do you use it?

Go to the NPC that sends you to your ship and select the first option.

You’ll have to pay him 5k for a 10 minute ride to wherever you’re going. Yay.

The only thing good about the ride is that you can move freely on the map with the plane.

There’s a new mounting technique, read on to learn how to mount it~

  • UI changes:

New area for mounts:

Only you can view it, and it’s where all your mounts skills go (instead of having the skills in your beginner tab, you just drag it from there to your hotkey).

The tab next to it is for guild skills.

Skill window changed:

New tabs at the bottom (left -> right) = Guild Skills, Mount Skills, and Macros.

  • Party EXP Ratio

Second to last thing I want to talk about is the party EXP ratio post-Jump! Before Jump!, it was 8:2 (meaning you get 80% and the other people in your party get 20%). Now it’s back to what It was before Big Bang, 6:4!!! This means leeching is back!!!

  • Changed Accuracy Formula

Last thing I wanted to talk about is the accuracy formula. As you probably know, post Big Bang you lose 5% hit rate for each level you’re under the monster. Well, now they made it better! They changed it to 2% instead of 5~ Leeching is even easier now!!!

Events

Events…What make MapleStory worthwhile~ During this update, there have been a couple of events that I’m sure will also be in GMS when it comes out. There are 4 different events, all are somehow related to this patch. I’ll explain them here and you can expect them to come out in GMS.

The event will be going on from March 31st, 2011 to April 20th, 2011. This means you get 22 days to level your character as much as possible.

Event 1: Warrior Class Reorganization Event

To celebrate the Warrior Revamp, there’s a new event for warriors created after this patch. Oh boy, didn’t expect that to happen…

In this event, new warriors will receive the following:

Upon Your First Job Advancement:

You will receive the following:

  1. A ring called Swordman Ring:
    • Warriors born in the period of the shine in the stars were given the Swordman Ring.
    • +100 MaxHP
    • +50 MaxMP
    • +1 Weapon Attack
    • +1 Magic Attack
    • +3% Critical Rate
    • One-of-a-kind, only tradeable once between accounts, and does not stack with other event rings.
  2. 3 Boxes which give you equipment, not weapons. There’s one for level 10, 20, and 25.

This event is only from March 31st, 2011 to April 10th, 2011.

Upon your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Job Advancement

You will get a special 1.5x EXP buff and a special 60% scroll of your choice which adds 3 STR, 1 DEX, and 3 Weapon Attack to your weapon.

Upon Reaching 3rd Job

You will receive a Special Mastery Book of your choice or a Secret Mastery Book.

The Special Mastery Book is not a regular Mastery Book. It will bring up your skill level from 5 to 30 at a 100% chance!

Sucks that it expires when the event is over, though.

4th Job and Beyond!

After 4th job, for every 5 levels you’ll receive the following:

Same things you get upon your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th job advancement.

Event 2: Monster Park Event!

  • Everyday, characters level 20~120 will receive a free Monster Park Pass.
  • As described above, you can get Spiegelmann’s Mustache from finishing the PQ 10 times by April 20th.
  • Free scooter mount for 7 days from this quest:

Basically, used the plane (discussed above) to fly somewhere and you’ll receive this scooter for 7 days.

Event 3: Piece of Scroll Event

Get 10 Pieces of Scroll from any monsters and double click on them for a chance to get the following:

A random 60% scroll or a Chaos Scroll. Yay.

Other Events

  • You get a free plane for 3 days (shown above under “ETC. Changes”)
  • Coming soon

That’s pretty much it for this update~

EDIT: Made major changes as of April 18th… Sorry about the Spiegelmann’s Mustache confusion, I read it wrong x_x…

Thank you,

~shakar96
